Shimla: In a road accident in Shimla, six labourers from the Kulgam area of south Kashmir died and several others were injured.
According to Shimla SP Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi, the unfortunate tragedy occurred after their truck crashed into a gorge near Kararghat. According to him, several of the workers died at the hospital from their injuries, while the other three perished instantly.
The deceased, hailing from Kulgam, were identified as Fareed Ahmad Deedar (24), Gulam Hussain Gorsi (43), Shabir Ahmad Deedar (19), Talib Hussain Tinda (23), Gulzar Ahmad Deedar (30), and Mushtaq Ahmad Dedar (30).
The injured are being treated at Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital. In his sympathy message, DC Kulgam, Dr. Bilal-Mohi-Ud-Din-Bhat, noted that the Shimla Administration is currently coordinating the remains’ transportation back to their original villages.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also expressed his condolences via Twitter, expressing sorrow over the tragic event and ordering aid to the bereaved families.
