IndiGo unveils new fees for front row comfort: Aisle or Window seats priced up to Rs 2k

New Delhi: In a recent move, IndiGo Airlines has made changes to its seating charges, specifically targeting passengers seeking extra legroom in the front row of its aircraft. This adjustment comes shortly after the airline announced a reduction in fuel charges.

As per the information available on the airline’s official website, passengers opting for window or aisle seats in the front row of an A321 aircraft, typically equipped with 222 seats, will now face a fee of Rs 2,000. The aisle seat in the same row incurs a slightly lower charge of Rs 1,500. Meanwhile, a flat rate of ₹400 applies to all seat types in the second and third rows.

IndiGo emphasizes that passengers not interested in purchasing a preferred seat have the option to choose any available free seat or be assigned one at no additional cost during airport check-in.

These revised charges are implemented uniformly across A321 planes with 232 seats and A320 aircraft with 180 seats, as detailed on the airline’s official website. The industry and travelers now await IndiGo’s response to this recent adjustment in seating fees.
