Baramulla: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the Gen Bipin Rawat Stadium in Baramulla, marking a significant milestone for the region. The stadium, named in honor of General Bipin Rawat, serves as a testament to the commitment to sports and recreation in the area.
As the inauguration ceremony unfolded, LG Manoj Sinha expressed his delight at providing the community with a state-of-the-art sporting facility. He emphasized the importance of promoting sports to nurture talent and foster a healthy and active lifestyle among the youth.
Looking ahead, the Lieutenant Governor encouraged the residents of Baramulla to actively participate in the upcoming Jhanda Ooncha Rahay Hamara program on January 26, Republic Day. . “I want the skies of Baramulla to be filled with Tiranga,” he said.
In his address, LG Manoj Sinha also touched upon the prevailing dry weather conditions in Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted the importance of snowfall for both the power industry and the tourism sector in the region.
Expressing optimism for a prosperous future, the Lieutenant Governor recalled the previous year’s success in attracting 13 lakh tourists to Gulmarg, a major tourist destination known for its snow-covered landscapes. He emphasized that while six new destinations have been added to the list in Baramulla district, the allure of snowfall remains a crucial factor in attracting visitors.
LG Manoj Sinha assured that elections for Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and Panchayats would commence soon after the completion of reservations for Other Backward Classes (OBCs). He affirmed the ongoing commitment to the path of peace and prosperity, urging the people of Jammu and Kashmir to look forward and actively contribute to the region’s development.
