Handwara: In a heartbreaking turn of events this morning, Atiqa Begum (60) tragically lost her life in Chogal village of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district. The assailant, believed to be a self-styled godman, viciously attacked Begum while she was walking along the road. The assault resulted in severe injuries that ultimately proved fatal.

Despite swift efforts to save her, Atiqa Begum was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, the injuries proved too severe, and she succumbed to them. Atiqa Begum, known as the wife of Abdul Rahman Lone from Magam Handwara, leaves behind a community in shock and mourning.
