PM Modi set to visit Kashmir for inauguration of Z-Morh tunnel

Srinagar: Z-Morh tunnel in Sonamarg is all set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Z-Morh tunnel will be open to public after it’s successful inauguration by Prime Minster Modi on Monday. The 6.4Km-long Z-Morh Tunnel, built at cost of Rs2400 Crore ,will ensure all year connectivity between kashmir and Sonamarg.

Ahead of the inauguration Prime Minister Modi reacted to a tweet shared by Chief Minister Umar Abdullah on X praising the aerial pictures and videos of upcoming Z-Morh Tunnel.PM Modi also said that “he’s eagerly awaiting his visit to Sonamarg “.

The Z-Morh tunnel is going to play a vital role in boosting the economy of the region because of the year- round connectivity and reduced time travel, allowing tourists to visit throughout the year to explore the region and also being a great help to defence forces moving from kashmir region to Ladakh.

Amidst the arrival of PM Modi the security in the region has been tightened and the checking  of vehicles,  searches and patrols are going on for the smooth conduct of the inauguration.
