Shocking! Ram Charan’s ‘Game Changer’ airs on TV before theatrical release

Hyderabad: Ram Charan’s eagerly anticipated film Game Changer was released on 10th January 2025, but its journey has been anything but smooth. Directed by Shankar and written by Karthik Subbaraj, the film generated tremendous hype, yet encountered significant challenges including piracy, just days after its debut.

Game changer leaked

In a shocking turn of events, an HD pirated version of Game Changer was broadcast on local cable TV channels in Andhra Pradesh, only a few days following the film’s release. Social media users swiftly shared screenshots of the illegal broadcast, prompting widespread outrage. In response, the film’s team has lodged complaints with cybercrime authorities to address the issue.

Producer Srinivas Kumar (SKN) voiced his frustration, stating, “This is unacceptable. A film that was released only 4-5 days ago being telecast on local cable channels and buses raises serious concerns. Cinema is not just about the hero, director or producers – it represents the result of 3-4 years of hard work, dedication, and the dreams of thousands of people.”

He further emphasised, “Consider the impact on distributors and exhibitors whose livelihoods depend on the success of these films. Such actions undermine their efforts and threaten the future of the film industry. It’s time for the respected governments to take strong action to put an end to this. Let’s unite and stand firm to ensure a brighter future for cinema.”

The piracy has not only harmed the film’s box office performance but has also sparked concerns about the future of cinema. With Game Changer already struggling due to mixed reviews and fierce competition from other Sankranti releases, this setback has further impacted its prospects.

The Game Changer team has also filed complaints against individuals threatening to leak the movie before its official release. Despite these efforts, the pirated version continues to circulate online causing substantial damage.
