Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday condemned the brutal terror attack in Pahalgam and confirmed that large-scale anti-terror operations have been launched to track down and neutralise the assailants.
In an official statement, LG Sinha expressed deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives and assured the public that the security forces have been given a free hand to deal with the terrorists responsible for the heinous act.
“We are determined to bring those behind this barbaric attack to justice. Anti-terror operations are underway at full scale. The culprits will be neutralised soon,” the Lieutenant Governor stated.
He also extended his condolences to the families of the deceased and directed local authorities to provide the best possible medical care to the injured.
Security has been intensified across Pahalgam and surrounding areas, while elite units of the Army and paramilitary forces have joined the search efforts. Drone surveillance and high-tech tracking are being used as part of the ongoing operation.
The attack, which targeted a group of tourists in South Kashmir’s picturesque Pahalgam region, has drawn widespread condemnation from across the country, with many leaders calling it an assault on peace and humanity.
Authorities have appealed to the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with security forces by reporting any suspicious activity.
Further updates are awaited as the security operation continues.
