Satish Sharma visits shelling-hit border villages, assures swift relief measures

The minister visited Kot Maira, Chaprial, Pahariwala, Panjtoot, Narayana, Dhaleri, and adjoining villages, where he expressed solidarity with the victims and assured them of the government’s full support during this crisis.

Jammu: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Transport, Science and Technology, Satish Sharma, on Sunday visited several border villages affected by recent cross-border shelling to assess the damage and offer support to distressed families.

During the visit, Sharma interacted with residents of the affected areas, many of whom have suffered significant damage to their homes and loss of livestock. A preliminary assessment revealed widespread destruction of residential properties and livelihood assets.

The minister visited Kot Maira, Chaprial, Pahariwala, Panjtoot, Narayana, Dhaleri, and adjoining villages, where he expressed solidarity with the victims and assured them of the government’s full support during this crisis.

Expressing deep concern over the situation, Sharma instructed district authorities to expedite relief and rehabilitation work and ensure timely assistance reaches all affected families.

“The safety and well-being of our citizens remains our top priority. We are committed to providing both immediate relief and long-term rehabilitation to those impacted,” the minister said.

He further informed that the administration is conducting a comprehensive survey to assess the extent of the damage. Based on the findings, appropriate compensation and assistance packages will be announced in the coming days.
