Mumbai: Popular television actress Sumbul Touqeer, best known for her role in Imlie, is set to make a heartfelt comeback to the small screen with her upcoming show Itti Si Khushi. The actress expressed her excitement about returning to television and shared insights into her character and the emotional journey the new show promises.
Speaking about the much-awaited return, Sumbul said, “I’m so happy to finally share the first look of Itti Si Khushi with everyone. I’ve been waiting for so long to come back with something that truly feels right, and I know my fans have been waiting too. So here I am—back to my home, doing what I love the most.”
In Itti Si Khushi, Sumbul will be seen portraying Anvita Diwekar, a young woman who takes on the responsibility of caring for her younger siblings after the sudden demise of their mother. As her father grapples with alcoholism and an inability to cope, Anvita becomes the emotional and practical pillar of her family.
Describing her role, Sumbul said, “Playing Anvita has been a beautiful experience. She’s the kind of girl who holds her entire family together, quietly taking on every responsibility with so much love and strength. She’s someone who finds power in her pain and grace even in her toughest moments.”
Sharing her experience of filming the promo, the actress added, “Shooting the promo was really special—we recreated a true Mumbai vibe. Working with my co-stars Rajat Verma and Varun Sir made it even more memorable. Anvita’s story is very close to my heart, and I hope people connect with her the way I have.”
Sumbul Touqeer rose to fame with her portrayal of Imlie Chaturvedi Rathore in the show Imlie, and later impressed audiences with her performance as IAS officer Kavya Bansal Pradhan in Kavya – Ek Jazbaa, Ek Junoon. She also garnered attention in 2022 as a contestant on Salman Khan’s reality show Bigg Boss 16, where she finished in the 7th position.
With Itti Si Khushi, Sumbul marks a significant return to television, promising viewers a story rooted in resilience, family bonds, and emotional strength.
