LG Manoj Sinha unveils Sheep Husbandry calendar in Baramulla, showcasing agricultural excellence for 2024
Baramulla: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today inaugurated the Gen. Bipin Rawat Stadium in Baramulla. The stadium, named in honor of General Bipin Rawat, serves as a testament to the commitment to sports and recreation in the area. LG also joined Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra and inaugurated, laid foundation stone for development projects worth Rs 38 crore.
Manoj Sinha unveiled the much-anticipated annual wall calendar for 2024 from the Sheep Husbandry Department too at Baramulla today. The release ceremony witnessed the presence of esteemed guests, including Chairperson District Development Council Ms Safina Beigh, XV Corps Lt. Gen Rajiv Ghai, Div Com Kashmir VK Bhiduri, Secretary to Govt Youth Services and Sports Shri Sarmad Hafiz, IGP North VK Birde, DC Baramulla Shri Minga Sherpa, ADC Baramulla, and other prominent figures.
The 2024 calendar serves as a comprehensive guide, shedding light on the activities, initiatives, achievements, services, and income generation schemes of the Sheep Husbandry Department. Each month is dedicated to detailing operations, good husbandry practices, and scientific livestock rearing methods aimed at enhancing productivity and profitability.
Notably, the calendar also highlights novel initiatives of the Union Territory administration, encompassing the facilitation of transportation for migratory tribals and their livestock, subsidized livestock insurance under NLM, and artificial insemination in sheep/goats. Additionally, it showcases the commercial sheep units established under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), contributing to self-sufficiency in mutton production through vertical and horizontal expansion.
The calendar proudly features the champion Sheep farmer of the district and showcases a mega sheep farm (500+25) animals established under NLM at Seer Jagir, Sopore. Beyond serving as a temporal guide, the 2024 calendar stands as a testament to the commitment of the Sheep Husbandry Department in Baramulla towards holistic development, innovation, and sustainable practices in the realm of Sheep Husbandry.
