Srinagar: All employees at Hazratbal Dargah Sharief have been placed on administrative leave by the Waqf Board of Jammu and Kashmir in response to complaints of poor administration from worshippers.
According to an order, during the unexpected visit of the Hon’ble Chairperson J&K Waqf Board (Minister of State, J&K), Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, on the eve of Eid-ul-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), to review the arrangements at Hazratbal Dargah Sharief in light of the complaints received from the public quarters, it was found that grave negligence of the concerned staff of the Waqf Board deputed at the shrine has created a lot of inconvenience to the devotees.
The Hon’ble Chairperson has taken this irresponsible attitude seriously. All those involved disregarded the repeated commands and directives from the Chairperson’s office. Due to their flagrant disregard for their responsibilities, all pertinent officers and staff members of Hazratbal Dargah Sharief have been placed on immediate leave as per the Hon. Chairperson’s directive.
The order states that a team of investigators, led by the Hon. Chairperson, has been formed to look into the matter and determine who is to blame for the grave irresponsibility of the staff on duty officers and the ground staff in failing to provide the devotees with the necessary facilities during the festival congregations.
