The 5th Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC)-Kargil elections commenced voting on Wednesday morning.
All 278 of the polling places put up around the Kargil district are currently conducting a seamless voting procedure that began at 8 am.
Long lines of voters who had come to cast their ballots were spotted at various polling places.
There are 95,388 voters registered in LAHDC-Kargil, including 46,762 women. Today from 8 am to 4 pm, qualified voters may exercise their right to vote. There are up to 85 individuals running for the 26 council seats.
DC Kargil Shrikant Balasaheb Suse said, “We have made all the arrangements for a peaceful and fair election.
