Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly has unanimously approved the recommendations of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) regarding the House’s business schedule.
Member Mubarak Gul moved the motion, following which Speaker of the Assembly, Advocate Abdul Rahim Rather, put the report to a voice vote. The recommendations were unanimously adopted by the members.
According to the report, the House sittings on 17, 22, and 24 March 2025 will commence at 10:00 AM and conclude at 5:00 PM, with a one-hour recess from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM.
Additionally, Government business originally scheduled for 11 April 2025 has been rescheduled to 25 March 2025.
To facilitate smooth proceedings, the BAC has decided that if Ministers choose to read out written replies to Demands for Grants, copies of the replies shall also be circulated among all members of the House.
Emphasising the importance of discipline, Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather urged Party Leaders and Chief Whips to ensure that members uphold decorum in the House.
The revised legislative calendar, appended to the BAC report, was also unanimously approved.
