Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes & Backward Classes Development Corporation Ltd., Srinagar, in collaboration with the National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation, New Delhi, organised an Awareness Camp at Chattabal, Srinagar, on Tuesday. The event aimed to inform the general public, particularly individuals belonging to backward classes, about various self-employment schemes facilitated by the corporation. The event witnessed an impressive turnout, reflecting widespread interest in the initiatives.
Speaking at the occasion, Mehmood-ul-Haq Gundroo, Deputy General Manager (Kashmir), provided an overview of the different income-generating schemes offered by the corporation, with special emphasis on those designed for backward classes. He encouraged people to come forward and take advantage of these schemes, highlighting the attractive low-interest rates on loans. Gundroo reiterated the corporation’s unwavering commitment to empowering individuals and fostering a self-reliant society.
Zulfikar Ali, District Manager, Srinagar, elaborated on the corporation’s schemes aimed at establishing income-generating units and stressed the importance of education loan schemes. His detailed presentation shed light on the numerous opportunities available to aspiring entrepreneurs and students seeking financial assistance.
Ms. Shreeza, Chairperson of Chinar Valley Youth Trust, who was present at the event, applauded the corporation’s efforts and expressed a strong desire for the organisation of more such awareness camps to benefit the underprivileged sections of society.
Several beneficiaries also shared their positive experiences, demonstrating the effectiveness of the schemes. To further disseminate information, brochures and handbills detailing the schemes were distributed among the attendees.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Babar Bashir Wani, Accounts Officer, who expressed gratitude to the participants for their enthusiastic cooperation and support.
