Adnan Sami applauds Operation Sindoor, says Pakistani army has ‘Destroyed’ the country

The Indian Air Force executed the strikes early Wednesday morning at around 1:44 a.m., successfully targeting terror infrastructure in Muridke, Bahawalpur, Kotli, and Muzaffarabad, without crossing into Pakistani airspace. The operation reportedly caught the Pakistan armed forces completely off guard.

Mumbai: Singer Adnan Sami, who renounced his Pakistani citizenship to become an Indian citizen in 2016, has strongly backed India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ — a series of precision strikes that targeted nine terrorist sites across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Taking to social media platform X, Sami wrote, “Jai Hind!! #OperationSindoor”, expressing his support for the Indian Armed Forces’ action, which came nearly two weeks after the terrorist attack in Baisaran, Pahalgam. The attackers are believed to have links with Pakistani-based terror outfits.

The operation reportedly caught the Pakistan armed forces completely off guard.

Days before his post on Operation Sindoor, Adnan Sami had shared an interaction he had in Baku, Azerbaijan. He recounted meeting young Pakistanis who expressed their disillusionment with their country’s military.

“Met some very sweet Pakistani boys while walking on the beautiful streets of Baku, Azerbaijan… They said ‘Sir, you are very lucky… You left Pakistan in good time. We also want to change our citizenship… WE HATE OUR ARMY… They have destroyed our country!!’ I replied, ‘I knew this long ago!’” Sami wrote on May 4.

The targeted locations during Operation Sindoor included known terror hubs — Muridke and Bahawalpur, believed to be strongholds of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), led by its chief Masood Azhar. Intelligence sources say the strikes hit terrorist training camps and launch pads used to orchestrate attacks against India.

Loud explosions were reported in Muzaffarabad, a city in PoJK, which experienced a power blackout following the strikes. Similar activity was reported in Kotli, another hub of terror infrastructure.

The Indian government’s swift response, through Operation Sindoor, has drawn widespread support across the country, with public figures like Adnan Sami adding their voices to the chorus of approval.
